Unexpectedly, “may I help the next person in line?” a Crew Member inquires.
“Good morning.”
“Good morning, Sir. How may I help?”
“Two for Four Croissan’Wich to go. That will be all, please.”
“Two for Four Croissan’Wich to go,” and keys some numbers on the cash
register. Moments later, “that’ll be Four-thirty-two, Sir.”
Alonzo pulls a billfold from his pants back pocket, retrieves a Debit Card, and
swipes it.
A few seconds later, “here’s your receipt, Sir.”
“Thank you,” stepping to the side.
“May I help the next guest, please?”
Suddenly, his smartphone starts to buzz. He clicks on the App -- accepting a
ride request. However, his meal is not ready. Within a split second, his smartphone
buzzes again.
“It indicates you’re not far away,” a female voice affirms. “How much time
before you get here?” the female inquires over the smartphone.
“I-85 and Virginia … Probably in 5 minutes.”
