The FEMALE REPORTER beckons her Camera Man to pick up the camera.
With cringed face, she motions him again to continue recording.
"-- Careful. A Second Perp could be lurking," Candice affirms while she glares
around with her gun still drawn. But a few more yards, just before an exit ramp,
Candice finds a body. The slumped body -- African-American male -- in his mid- to
late- 20s slumps motionless against the trunk of a tree trunk and holding a handgun
in his hand. The unremarkable wound to the head oozes with fresh blood.
Officer Malone feels for a pulse but turns to Candice -- who is still aiming her
handgun -- and shakes his head to signal otherwise.
“Oh, my gosh,” the skirmish Camera Man reacts to the sight of the deceased.
But the Female Reporter walks away -- with her mic in hand -- shaking her
head in discontent.
Back on the highway, motorists and witnesses get back on their feet with
caution, climb into their vehicles, and wait for further instructions from the officers.
The medics strap and wheel the injured Biker on to the ambulance. Though
his injuries don't appear to be life threatening, the Biker's strapped in a stretcher
before the ambulance takes off for the nearest medical facility. Alonzo wearily makes
his way back to his Jeep, opens the driver's door, gets in, and straps his seat belt; then
cranks the ignition. And he takes off after been directed by one of the police officers.
