Section 2. A plurality vote shall be required on all business matters,
including the election of officers. Only the vote of Sorors present at the
meeting shall be counted.
Section 3. Voting for candidates for office shall be by a single
secret ballot.
Section 4. The delegates of Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter to the
Regional Conference and to the Boule shall be the basileus, anti-basileus
of programs, anti-basileus of operations, graduate advisors, and other
Sorors elected by the chapter totaling the allowed number as stated in
Article IX of the Constitution and Bylaws of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated. A Soror shall be eligible to be a delegate to the Regional
Conference or to the Boule only if she has been an active member of
Alpha Kappa Omega for at least two (2) consecutive years (24 months)
and, did not serve as a delegate to the Regional Conference in the
preceding year or to the previous Boule; excluding the basileus, anti-
basileus of programs, anti-basileus of operations and graduate advisors,
who may serve consecutive terms as a delegate, if re-elected.
ARTICLE XII: ELECTIONS
A candidate must notify the Basileus within forty-eight (48) hours after
an election that she is challenging the results of the Tellers’ Report and
is asking for a recounting of the votes. Within 48 hours, the Basileus will
appoint a group of Sorors to administer the recount, and must notify the
body that a recount is taking place and must notify the body of the
results. There can be no challenge to the results of a recount.
