The transfer of a Soror from another chapter shall be as stated in Article
IV, Sections 40-43 of the Constitution and Bylaws of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated.
ARTICLE IX: PENALTIES AND RESTORATION OF
PRIVILEGES
Section 1. Each member shall have knowledge of and shall comply fully,
and in good faith with the bylaws of Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter.
Penalties or sanctions may be imposed when members violate their
obligations under these bylaws.
Section 2. The penalty for violations of the bylaws of Alpha Kappa
Omega Chapter by individual members shall be withdrawal of individual
privileges.
A. Withdrawal of individual privileges may include, but shall not
necessarily be limited to, forfeiture of the right to vote in chapter
meetings, hold office, participate in or attend social affairs of Alpha
Kappa Omega Chapter or officially represent Alpha Kappa Omega
Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, until such
time as the privileges are restored.
B. The withdrawal of individual privileges shall be in force until the
regional director declares that causes for penalty are removed or
until the designated period of the penalty has expired, except in the
following instances:
1. Withdrawal of individual privileges of members guilty of
paddling, hazing, or engaging in any other form of brutality shall
remain in force for a period not less than twelve (12) months.
2. Withdrawal of individual privileges of members guilty of
circulating letters, telegrams, etc. or of issuing statements in the
