through December 31, and participate in at least two (2) of the
following: Leadership Meetings/Retreats/Trainings, Cluster
Conference, Regional Conference/Trainings/Summits,
Undergraduate Roundup, International Conference (Boule or
Leadership), or others that may be determined by the Regional
Director.

For the purpose of sponsoring or co-sponsoring a candidate for
membership, an active member who has been elected or
appointed to a regional or international office, chairmanship, or
committee whose absence is because she is/was conducting
business on behalf of the organization, shall be exempt from the
chapter meeting attendance requirement for each year she has
been/was elected or appointed.

C. To participate in membership intake a soror must attend at
three (3) of the following activities over the past two (2)
years according to the calendar year January 1 through
December 31: Committee Work, Founders' Day Programs,
Program Attendance, Connection and Social Justice
Events/Legislative Days (i.e. AKA Day at the Capitol) or
Fundraisers.

Section 3. NEW MEMBER

A. Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter shall take the initial steps in
considering candidates for membership. An active soror who
desires to serve as a sponsor or co-sponsor of a prospective
candidate is required to have had at least two (2) consecutive
years (24 months) of active membership in Alpha Kappa Omega
immediately prior to being a sponsor or co-sponsor, and present
to the chapter grammateus one sponsor/co-sponsor
Membership Recommendation Form signed by the sponsor and
two (2) co-sponsors, and two (2) letters of recommendation
from the same two co-sponsors in Alpha Kappa Omega
Chapter.
