Ownership of records

Visibility of records within Dynamics CRM is based on a hierarchy security model, ownership and a
               user’s role in the system.

               Account:

Cascading is used for all related entities except activities and cases.
This means that when an account changes owners (from one user to another or sales rep to sales
rep), all related records – contacts, yearly sales figures, industry segments, savings,
materials, etc. will automatically change ownership to the new account owner.

               For example, on Sales Pipeline:

When a new sales pipeline record is created, it will automatically set the owner to the same user
as the owner of the related account. Account is a mandatory field.

At the same time, the person who created the sales pipeline is set to the field for “worked
by”. This can then be manually updated at any time if a new person takes responsibility for the
record. In most of the cases, this field will be the same as the sales pipeline record owner.

All related records are set to the owner of the sales pipeline record on creation. For example,
machine details in a MTS pipeline.
