Choosing to attend an adoption orientation with Legacy Adoption Services (LAS)
stems from a deep desire we both had to continue building our family. We made a
commitment to each other that we could give more children a brighter future and a
loving home. We did some research on different adoption agencies and LAS seemed
like a great fit, and they were. They offered essential support and guidance throughout
the process, ensuring that we were well-informed about the legal, emotional, and
logistical aspects of adoption. The adoption process is not an easy one. It is lengthy
and requires a lot of patiently waiting.

LAS has been an invaluable support throughout our adoption journey. Even after our
adoption, LAS continues to be a resource for post-placement support. Our sons
adoption worker, Calli Brewer, has been our rock. She has always been there for the
numerous questions through this process. She is a rock star, and we hope LAS knows
it. She helped us navigate the emotional and practical aspects of welcoming him into
our family. Her unwavering commitment to what she does has truly had a lasting
       impact.

Deciding to adopt wasn’t an easy decision. It came with a lot of questions and
emotions. Would the child like us or even love us? Would we bond with a child that
wasn’t biologically ours? Through the power of prayer, our answer was yes. God put it
on our hearts and that we couldn’t waiver. Every child is a beautiful creation of God,
and as such, deserves unconditional love and acceptance. Embracing this child as our
own meant recognizing that they are not only a part of our family but also a cherished
part of God’s family. We believe that God is love, and by welcoming this child into
our lives, we are extending that love in its purest form. Our hearts were open to
nurture and support the child, ensuring they would feel safe and valued. We have a
home filled with warmth, compassion, understanding, laughter, and most importantly
the love for God and each other.

The question I ask all of you is, “Can you love a child before meeting them?” I know
this may sound crazy, but I can say we did. I didn’t know when or who, but I loved
them before they came to us.
