CHARITY DAY
CHARITY DAY
This year our Charity competition was to raise
funds for Michael Sobell House Hospice in
Oxford. The day was sponsored by Godfreys
Hauliers and Tony Willis; the trophies were do-
nated in memory of Ron Newitt who was a
founder member of the club.

either side of Michael Newitt.

Teams from Benson, Chieveley, Drayton,
Hanney and Stanford in the Vale played in
the Round Robin format and the final was
between Chieveley and Stanford in the
Vale.
Michael Newitt, Ron’s son presented Runners-up Stanford in the Vale
the trophies to the A winners Chieveley Les Gray, Christine Williams, Ted Watkins
Bowlers and visitors had lunch and before & Chick Iles with Michael Newitt
the final had tea and cakes, 1 The raffle had 41 prizes donated by members and clubs The
day raised £693-70p for the Charity.
