For the 13th year in a row, Buckhorn Weston held their annual “jolly” at the Langstone Cliff
hotel. Visiting players came in to play them from Winkleigh, Christow, North Tawton, Beer
and Ideford, with Buckhorn as the home team they just edged out their combined oppo-
nents for a successful 13th visit.
At the end of January in the outstanding hotel there is a reduced rate of £239 Dinner
Bed & Breakfast, with no extra charges for balcony rooms or singles occupancy rooms
and there is as usual a free pre-dinner drink every evening. In all of the 13 years the tour
has never been really troubled by the weather, unlike the winters we used to get when we
were young.
