                                                                THE MARY KENT TRIPLES
                                                                Named after the wife of former England player
                                                                Roy Kent, the Mary Kent Triples is hotly con-
                                                                tested every year.
                                                                      After previously dispatching their semi-
                                                                final  opponents,  Beaford  and  Yarnscombe
                                                                met in the final and gave and absolute cracker
                                                                of a match.
                                                                      Yarnscombe’s  Graham  James,  Alan
                                                                Flood & Jay Shaw seemed to be on their way
                                                                to victory, playing well and leading 7 - 1 after
                                                                six of the eighteen ends but slowly and surely
                                                                Gordon Denham, Eleanor & Francis Hawkey
                                                                clawed their way back into the match and lev-
                                                                elled the scores at 10 all after 14 ends.
                                                                      A  couple  of  singles  put  Yarnscombe
                                                                back in front but was answered by two singles
                                                                for  Beaford,  thus  once  again  levelling  the
                                                                match after the regulation eighteen ends but
