Charity Pairs
Charity Pairs
The annual Norfolk Memorial Charity Pairs,
played in memory of all the bowlers who have
passed away over the years, took place at
Hingham Sports & Social Club.
Bowlers from twenty-one different Nor-
folk clubs entered playing four games each in
the first part of the competition with the even-
tual winners able to choose the charity for
which all profits are donated to. Robbie Landb

Robbie Lamb & Jason Wood & Jason Woods fought their way to the final
and faced Kerry Greenacre & Keith Cooke.
On the third end of the final, Lamb & Woods scored their second three for a 6-1 lead. Greenacre
& Cooke struck back on the next end for a three of their own to reduce the deficit to 4-6. On the
next end after some great play a two to Greenacre & Cooke levelled the match at 6 all.
On the penultimate end Jason Woods drew in for
shot and after Keith Cooke had failed to take the jack
back Woods drew a second for an 8-6 lead. The final
end was played in mounting tension as Greenacre &
Cooke needed two shots to force an extra end but the
end was killed.
On the replayed end, Kerry Greenacre had bowl
sitting next to the jack and it was hard to see how
Cooke could score the two shots he needed to force
an extra end. And so it proved to be with Robbie Lamb
& Jason Woods taking a single to win the final 9-6.
At the presentation ceremony the winners an- Memorial Pairs Finalists
nounced that they had decided that MacMillan Nurses Keith Cooke & Kerry Greenacre
would receive the profits from the competition this year
so a cheque for £450 will be winging its way to them from the NCSMBA.
