             The Semi Finals saw Kerr and Shorthouse defeat Burden and Matthews 9-5 and the
             Wortons win 9-3 against Skinner & Reeves.  The final went to and extra end where the           15
             Wortons picked up a score of 3 to defeat Kerr and Shorthouse 9-6.

             The event was played to a straight knockout format Percy Tripp (Newlyn Trinity) defeated Gary
             Skinner (Saltash) 12-6 in the Preliminary Round.  The Quarter Finals saw Paul Murphy (Porth-
             leven) defeat Tripp 12-8.  Peter Hore (Holmans) defeated Geoff Risdon (Lanteglos) 10-5.  Car-
             oline Moore (Luxulyan) won 11-9 against Callum Beale (Withiel) and Bob Banks (Boscastle)
             won 11-10 against David Shaw (Wadebridge).
                   In the semi-finals Hore defeated Murphy 15-0 and Banks won 11-7 against Moore.  The
             final was decided by an extra end with Hore defeating Banks 11-10.
             COUNTY & NATIONAL OVER 55 PAIRS
             COUNTY & NATIONAL OVER 55 PAIRS
             The County Over 55 Pairs was played at Carnmoggas with eight pairs competing split into two
             groups of four with the top team from each group playing the final. Dennis Shorthouse and
             Richard Kerr (Landrake) topped Group One with an unbeaten 6 points and plus 6 shots with
             Howard McCormack and Mark Payne (Penlee) second on 4 plus 4.  Mike Dyer and Kevin
             Williams (Newlyn Trinity) topped Group Two with 6 points plus10 ahead of Keith Matthews and
             Max Burden Blisland on 4 points plus 4.
                   Shorthouse and Kerr won the final against Dyer and Williams 15-7.  McCormack and Payne
             finished top of the teams chasing a place in the national competition and will represent the county
             at the English National finals.

             The Bebbington Cup was contested at Carnmoggas Indoor Bowling Club between the Four area
             league winners.  Newlyn Trinity Jowsters (West), Withiel Oaks (Central), Lanteglos A (North) &
             Landrake (East). After the three rounds of games the title was decided on the last game to fin-
             ished between Withiel Oaks and Newlyn Trinity Jowsters with the Oaks winning both mats 11-
             10 and 12-10.
                   The full results were: Session One: Withiel Oaks v Landrake 1-18 & 19-6; Newlyn Trinity
             Jowsters v Lanteglos A 12-7 & 17-4. Session Two: Withiel Oaks v Lanteglos A 15-2 & 12-7; Lan-
             drake v Newlyn Trinity Jowsters 4-17 & 6-17. Session Three: Withiel Oaks v Newlyn Trinity Jow-
             sters 11-10 & 12-10; Landrake v Lanteglos A 10-8 & 5-11. The Final standings were 1st Withiel
             Oaks 10 points +17 shots, 2nd Newlyn Trinity Jowsters 8 +39, 3rd Landrake 4 -24, 4th Lanteglos
             A 2 -32.

             128 bowlers competed in the Inter Area Match at Carnmoggas with 4 teams of 32 representing
             each area.  A competitive days bowling saw Central take the title by 2 points from West.  The
             full result: Central 30 points 196 shots for 187 shots against; West 28 points 227 shots for 157
             shots against; North 21 points 176 shots for 199 against; East 17 points 165 shots for 221

             ED - most of the Cornish County Competitions are spread over several days, with qualifying
             days and Finals days, which can be a long time apart. I cannot find all of the information emails
             concerned and I’m not sure what I did with them. My apologies but the above report was from
             all the information I could find that Nick sent to me - Mea Culpa I’m afraid!!!!. Perhaps I should
             write an article on writing the magazine and the problems of making the pages fit and some of
             difficulties involved.
