                    The Triples quarters started with two very
              hard fought games as each team strived to get
              through to the next round. A three on the last but
              one end from Roy Atkinson, Joan Golding & Bar-
              bara Schultze levelled up the scores at 5 all but
              a last end single gave Robert Adams, Michael
              Leale & Tony Drew a 6 - 5 win.
                    It was a similar story for Mike Singleton,
              Tony Shepherd & Dick Starbuck who also lev-
              elled the score at 5 all with just one end to go but
              John Allen, Jim & Joan Flin got the verdict 6 - 5           Triples Champions Bernard

              John & Margaret Ray a 9 - 6 victory. Up to the fourth end only singles separated Barbara
              Buse, Verity & Nichola Prior  from Robert Davies, Jeanette Richards & Bernard Williams who
              were just 1 - 3 down but a three and three singles gave them a 7 - 3 victory.
                    Robert, Jeanette & Bernard kept up this form in their semi-final, beating John Allen, Jim
              & Joan Flin 10 - 4.  In the other semi, Robert Adams, Michael Leale & Tony Drew scored a
              five on the opening end against Jean Bennett, John & Janet May and followed this up with a
              four and a two to lead 11 - 0 after just three ends and eventually won 15 - 1.
                    In the final Robert Davies, Jeanette Richards & Bernard Williams took an early lead 6 -
              0 after three ends. Robert Adams, Michael Leale & Tony Drew fought back with four single to
              be just 4 - 6 down but a single to Robert, Jeanette & Bernard took them to 7 - 4 with two ends
              to play but Robert, Michael & Tony then stunned their opponents with a four to take an 8 - 7
              lead with just the last end to play. In mounting
              tension and excitement on a hard fought end,
              a two to Robert, Jeanette & Bernard gave the
              a hard fought 9 - 8 championship victory.
