held their Annual Fours Tourna-
ment at the Village Hall with 16
teams competing from Bristol,
Somerset, Devon, South
Gloucester, Herefordshire and
North Somerset.
The competition was hotly
contested with two of the teams
Pucklechurch and Wells Break-
aways winning all their round
robin games.

Mike Davis. Motley Crew from Devon as hav-
ing done quite well in the previous
rounds, two wins and a draw; they could only manage to take one shot, going down 7 shots
to Pucklechurch.
However the next semi-final was a much closer game with Broadclyst, (Near Exeter)
and Wells Breakaways taking 4 shots each after the 5th end. Somehow Wells seemed to lose
their way as they didn’t manage to take anymore ends and Broadclyst won 7 shots to 4.
The Final saw some excellent bowling between Pucklechurch and Broadclyst. This
started a close game and after eight ends the score was 6 shots to Pucklechurch and 7
shots to Broadclyst. However, the next two ends saw Pucklechurch take 6 shots to win the
game 12 shots to 7 shots against Broadclyst.
During the day we held a raffle, and with a donation from the Village Hall and also an-
other bowling club we will be sending a cheque in excess of £400 to the League of Friends at
Weston Hospital for the Scanner Appeal. A big thank you to the club members that worked
very hard all day serving Bacon Butties, about 60 lunches, and numerous cups of tea and
coffee, and of course all the washing up as well! A very successful day.
