Leadership Function: Corporate Leadership Development
Description: To provide a structured forum for personal and professional development for leadership and key staff employees; to build trust; develop consistency in application of policies and practices; and build confidence, knowledge and skill (competency) in the McLaren leadership team. Responsible for McLaren University to ensure learning activities are congruent with current McLaren Health Care strategic goals to improve organizational effectiveness.

1. Leadership employees shall attend 100% of the Core I programs within two (2) years from date of hire into a leadership role.
2. It is strongly recommended that Core II programs be completed within two (2) years following the completion of the Core I curriculum.
Note: Some subsidiaries have made Core II courses mandatory.
3. Elective programs are available and participation in them is strongly encouraged as a commitment to lifelong learning.
4. Learning Application Contract. It is highly recommended that following completion of a program, the employee meet with his/her manager to discuss professional development goals and improvements to be made as a result of attendance at the program. Progress towards these goals should be discussed and documented on the annual performance appraisal.
5. Support and encourage direct reports to attend the Leadership Academy programs.
6. Identify personal and direct reports development needs and request assistance.
7. Adheres to the standards, policies and procedures related to McLaren University.
1. Coordinate and provide McLaren Leadership Academy programs and other leadership development activities for all leadership employees throughout McLaren Health Care.
2. Provide consulting services for leadership employees related to professional development, team building, etc.
3. Responsible for oversight of all activities related to McLaren University and the delivery of quality e-learning courses that meet educational design standards.
