The criteria is as follows:
A current member of the Committee on Diversity in the Legal Profession must nominate the
individual;
The recipient is to be selected by the current chair(s) of the Committee on the Diversity in the
Legal Profession;
The recipient may receive the award once in his/her lifetime;
Enhances inclusion through positive communication between persons of different backgrounds;
Develops innovative methods for increasing and valuing diversity through wide-
ranging activities;
Demonstrates outstanding efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination;
Organizes, creates and facilitates various community events promoting diversity, respect, and
inclusiveness.
Nomination period: September – December
Integration Subcommittee (Programming that includes diverse and inclusive topics)
Diversity and inclusion presentations were held around the state for local and specialty bar
associations and within existing LSBA CLE programs.
A CLE presentation titled Generational Differences was held on December 23, 2019 at the
Lafayette Bar Association for the CLE by the Hour program. The seminar featured the following

speaker: Cynthia Simon, 15 JD District Attorney’s Office.
A CLE presentation titled Facing and Managing the Silent Saboteurs to Equity and Diversion in
the Legal Profession was held on December 11, 2019 at the PanAmerican Conference Center, New
Orleans, LA for the CLE Unwrapped seminar. The seminar featured the following speaker: Lynn
Luker, Stanley, Reuter, Ross, Thornton & Alford, LLC, Baton Rouge, LA.
A CLE presentation titled Equity and Diversity was held on September 11, 2019 at the Crowne
Plaza Hotel, Baton Rouge, LA for the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office Annual CLE Seminar.
The seminar featured the following speaker: Deidre Deculus Robert, General Counsel, Southern
University System, Baton Rouge, LA
Inclusive Professionalism Facilitators Training
A “Train the LSBA Facilitator” workshop designed to equip speakers in facilitating discussions
to foster inclusive professionalism was implemented in 2011.
The Integration subcommittee continues to recruit attorneys to become experienced facilitators to
become members of the “Diversity and Inclusion Facilitator Training Team.” This team of trained
