facilitators will train other LSBA members across the state that have an interest in presenting
diversity and inclusion presentations.
A planning retreat was held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 to begin developing a training model
and workshop. A training model and workshop was developed and the continued goal is to have
seasoned volunteers develop other volunteers and bring in professionals to reinforce the facilitation
training when necessary.
A Facilitator Training Team Retreat was held on May 19, 2018 at the LA Bar Center, New Orleans,
LA. Seasoned and new facilitators participated in the workshop training and are presently working
as teams to improve diversity and inclusion presentations.
The Integration Subcommittee has partnered with a facilitation team member, Deborah Love, to
contractually assist in updating powerpoints with updated research and presentation formats.
LGBT Subcommittee
Outreach
The LGBT Subcommittee is planning a meeting with the presidents of all the LGBT law student
groups regarding future planning.
The subcommittee is currently working on a pro bono project for the LGBT community.
Programming
A Labor and Employment presentation titled Title VII at 55: Where We've Been and Where We're
Going was held on November 5, 2019 at the Louisiana Bar Center and on December 13, 2019 in
conjunction with the Natchitoches Lights CLE seminar at the Chateau St. Denis Hotel.

A session is dedicated to corporate and in-house attorneys at the annual Conclave on Diversity in
the Legal Profession. The Corporate Breakfast session is titled “The Connect.”
