Lessons Learned
1 Once selective demolition of MEP
systems exceeds a threshold, full
replacement may be a better value.
2 A good set of as-builts is extremely
valuable. Prioritize the effort towards
accurate measurements and
verification of field conditions early in
the design process.
3 A generous contingency of at
least 5% is critical to address
hidden challenges and unforeseen
conditions during construction.
