Monst ers sneak underneat h your bed,
There are creepy chuckles and cries of laught er,
While your pillow ?s ?neat h your head.
As t he midnight owl hoot s away.
You wait and yearn for day t o rise,
I hear t hese, sounds as I st roll t hrough t he neighborhood.
As scary faces appear in your eyes.
Shadows lurk underneat h t he weeping t rees, You wear a mask,
While t he bat s fly high int o t he night . To t ake on a t ask.

Sensing t hese t hings makes me shiver. The collect or wait s wit hin,

Fires burn a bit t er, but sweet pumpkin spice candle, A munchy monst er underneat h your skin.
while t he sweet , aut umn breeze blows t hrough t he wind. Candy fills t he basket in your hand.

Sniffing out t hese scent s, makes me feel as if I were a Werewolf. Then you t ravel t o a looney land.
The candy st icks t o my hands, Halloween comes and goes,

as I feel t he concret e and rocks underneat h my cold feet . But as midnight comes t he monst ers who arose,

Wandering t hrough t he st reet s my body get s more numb. Run back int o t he shadows.

A SPOOKY HALLOWEEN DREAM By Mik e Ma nning Gr a de Eig h t

 By Ra c h el Ko k o s o v a , Gr a de 8 It was a bit t er cold fall night .
It was like a billion degrees below zero.
You get a feeling; somet hing is wat ching you
Black cat s were roaming t he st reet s.
Looking around, you see not hing but darkness,
Full moon was lurking in t he sky.
Cont inuing t hrough t he cemet ery wit h worries,
Screams were echoing t hroughout t he neighborhood.
You hear a howl in t he background; you begin t o shiver,
Appet izing warm bakery t reat s all ready for t he t rick-or-t reat ers.
An eerie sound comes from behind a t ree,
                                          As I t ake a slow walk t hrough t he woods,
You begin t o walk fast er and fast er unt il
I could hear t he galloping of hooves, but unaware about which direct ion t hey were coming from.
You t rip on a branch and hear noises surrounding you
In t he dist ance, I could see a horse wit h a man on it , but no head!
Noises you have never heard before,
I ran t he ot her direct ion as fast as my legs could t ake me.
You see a shadow creeping up on you
As I depart ed t he woods, t he last sound I heard was a snort from t he horse,
You fear t hat t his will be t he end of you and it almost blew my ent ire ear off. It was t hat loud!
A t ouch on your shoulder and you scream Sweat was gushing down t he side of my head.

When t o find out it ?s only a dream. My heart was beat ing like a million miles an hour.

I was parched. I was so t errified, I went st raight t o bed.
