The IS department is working on some significant changes to the way we work, the first phase of this project is focusing on an update to our Exchange Email solution.
WE ARE GOING CLOUD!
We have already completed a 6 month project to upgrade key integration components of our Exchange Email system to enable us to link seamlessly to the Microsoft Exchange Online Cloud service.
The next and current phase of this project is to move all of our Exchange Email mailboxes off our on-premise servers to the Microsoft Exchange Online Cloud servers. Since the start of July 2020 we have migrated 300 mailboxes out of a total of 900 (including Shared Mailboxes) which includes over 13 million individual emails. We estimate that the migration of all mailboxes will be complete by the end of September 2020.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Business as usual: You the user should experience minimal disruption whilst all this change is taking place. Email will be available as normal with very little change. Updates to Outlook will be rolled out introducing a slight change in look and feel.
Note that your logon account will change to support integration with the Microsoft cloud and to support future enhancements.
Joined up: The new solution will enable us to deliver the strategic goal of having all SHS Group employees, including British Pepper & Spice, 3V and Standard Brands, on a single email solution with shared calendaring and employee look-up.
