small. Any time you feel that you are not being treated fairly, we want
you to let us know about it right away. The door is always open to you.
It is our policy to let an employee tell his/her side of the story and give
every consideration to his/her problems and complaints. Any complaints
should first be addressed with your supervisor. In the event you feel
the complaint is not being handled correctly you should contact your
department manager, then finally the vice president or executive of your
department. If you feel that your issues are not being addressed in an
appropriate fashion through these individuals, or if you are uncomfortable
speaking with these individuals, you may contact the Human Resources
Department or any member of executive management.
Property Access
Only current employees are allowed general access to U.S. Xpress
properties and Service Centers. All other visitors are to report to the
receptionist and/or guard and should be accompanied by a U.S. Xpress
employee at all times when not in the reception area. Guests are required
to sign in and out of the facility. The Company shall provide guests and
vendors with approved identification as discussed below. It is requested
that friend or family visitations to employees during the work day be of a
short duration in order to minimize disruption to work schedules.
Physical Access Controls
U.S. Xpress takes the safety and security of our employees,
customers, and shipments very seriously. In fact, U.S. Xpress has made
the commitment to the U.S. Customs Service by signing the Agreement
to Voluntarily Participate in Customs-Trade Partnership Against
Terrorism (C-TPAT). As a supporter of the Customs initiatives, we are
proud to participate and take an active role in the war against terrorism by
ensuring a more secure supply chain.
All employees have a responsibility to assist us in the positive
identification of all employees, visitors, service providers, and vendors
at all points of entry. Vendors and customers should only have access
to those areas of a facility where they have legitimate business. All
employees should be familiar with the security procedures outline below
and take an active role in ensuring these security measures:
• Drivers/Visitors/Vendors/Service Providers
Drivers, visitors, vendors, and service providers must sign in
and present photo identification for documentation purposes at
the security gate up-on arrival at the USX facility each day. All
visitors and service providers should visibly display temporary
identification on their person in a location above the waist.
