An Ideal Teacher Is A
Reflective Practitioner
According to Matthews (2017) A reflective practitioner builds and
examines knowledge about learners, the culture and curricula of
schooling, and the contexts in which teaching and learning occur;
such a practice assists an educator to simultaneously renew,
invigorate, and maximize the teaching process.
By using and applying reflective practice as a teacher you are
more self-aware and you develop a better understanding of
others around you. An ideal applying the reflective practice
develops the ability to reflect on their actions and engage in the
process of continuous learning.
As a result of these focused discussions in reflection a teacher is
able to better understand practice and be able to take steps to
improve practice.
