An Ideal Teacher Is A Teacher

Of Language

An ideal teacher is a teacher who believes in the use of multiple
languages to communicate. As a teacher knowing only one
language or being skilled in one language can cause problems in
the classroom. For example if a teacher only uses English as a

medium of instruction and learners are not English first speakers,
there might be moments in the lesson where learners will not
understand other concepts and code switching in this case is
needed.

An ideal teacher should be able to make use of different languages
which learners can relate to in order to understand some concepts
in the lesson which they do not understand or which they cannot

make reference to. Learners will be able to apply the knowledge
they receive in the classroom outside of the classroom in their
communities, at home with family and with friends. An ideal
teacher is the person that facilitates knowledge and skills in the
classroom and outside of the classroom.
