I. What is Advising Program at VinUniversity?

University might be an overwhelming experience to many students. They must navigate a new eco-system,
to face an environment of social and cultural diversity, and take responsibility for their own learning
journey. On this journey, they are likely to experience physical, social and emotional challenges associated
with this new chapter in their lives.

The Advising Program is established to help students adapt to the new environment and succeed in
discovering their potential capabilities. The Advising Program is an important part of OASIS course
(component “A”).

Individual Development Plan (IDP) is an essential tool in the Advising Program. Students are required to
review and update their IDP every 6 months for the following purposes: reflect on their strengths and areas
of improvement; short-term and long-term goals and plans to achieve them. Students may seek help from
Generic/ Academic Advisor to complete their IDP.
