Like anything though, all this takes money and
funding. With the Provincial Government's cut to
student tuition, changes to fees and OSAP, it is
more difficult for programmes with low
enrolement [Mohawk Language course] to offer
new programmes and they are likely to get
trimmed. The Cultural and Language Studies
Department receives no funding for offering
these courses and it’s an expense Renison is
taking on as part of an ongoing commitment to
the Truth and Reconciliaton Committee to help
restore some heritage for the Indigenous people
from the local community.
