Nicole Bilodeau, Lecturer of Cultural and
Language Studies, holds a Masters Degree from
Wilfrid Laurier University and personally knows
of atrocities subjected by residential schools, as
her grandparents were one of many that were
forced to adhere and conform. Nicole (being
Mohawk), and of the Six Nations (also known as
the Haudenosaunee peoples) of the Grand River
Territory, learnt the language herself through Six
Nations a couple of years ago. With her
Mohawk background, Nicole Bilodeau is trying
to return these cultural resources back to her
community. Mohawk language courses tend to
run between 6-10 students per class for Mohawk
Language term 1, and 4-6 students per class for
Mohawk Language term 2.
