Go Bus
For a little bit of a higher
price, one can get out of the
Waterloo region to various
parts of Ontario with the
Go Bus. The bus reaches
much of the Greater Toronto
area and stretches more
than 11, 000 square km. It
reaches areas by Hamilton,
Kitchener/ Waterloo,
Newcastle, Orangeville and
Niagara Falls.

The fare depends on the distance and trip, but for example, from UW to Union
Station in downtown Toronto would cost $17.70. Lots of students use it to go home for
the weekend or to get to the airport during the beginning or end of the semester as it
is a quick, convenient way to travel farther distances without the use of a car.
Lime Scooters
In the Fall of 2018, a new mode of transportation opened up for the University of
Waterloo. A company called Lime ran an electric scooter sharing service, giving birth
to a new mode of transportation around campus. Waterloo was the first place in
Canada to receive the scooters under a temporary pilot project to evaluate the success
of the scooters. To access these scooters, riders first must have the Lime app on their
phone and attach it to a credit card.
Riders paid a one dollar fee to gain
access to the scooter and an
additional 30 cents for every minute
the scooter was in use. The scooters
were widely popular with the students
providing a new fast and fun way to
traverse the campus. While being a
pilot project, the scooters were
restricted to the areas around Laurel
Trail and Columbia Ice Field. However,
as winter approached, Lime had to
recall all the scooters in mid-
November due to ice and snow with https://www.arktimes.com/ArkansasBlog/archives/2019/01/17/
the fear that many scooters would lime-scooter-users-in-little-rock-required-to-ride-on-sidewalks-

start to break down. Being a pilot
project, Lime may come back to
Waterloo in the Spring of 2019 with Click to support the
