Welcome
With the growth of the Waterloo
Campus, whether it be heading to
their next class or taking a trip to
the grocery store, students are left
with many options on how they wish
to explore the campus. Ranging
from buses to electric scooters, there
is a mode of transportation for
every student in Waterloo.

GRT
The GRT is Kitchener/Waterloo’s main bus system transporting people around the
region. The bus has a fare of $3.25 for adults, or those who are students of the
University of Waterloo are provided with a free UPass connected to their WatCard
during their school term. There are over 250 buses running all through
Kitchener/Waterloo; and to Elmira and New Hamburg. These include 50 routes and a
variety of express options. This provides a convenient way for many students to get
around the Waterloo area such as Conestoga Mall. Though at times, the wait times
for the GRT can be long, especially on the weekends, and stops may be hard to find if
unfamiliar with the area. Winter can also pose a challenge for those waiting to take
the GRT, especially as the snow can pile up on the sidewalk and there has been a lot
of wind recently. So make sure to dress for the weather!
