Bubble tea is everywhere in Waterloo. Cross the street
from UW Place and there are already two bubble tea
stores to choose from, The Alley and Sweet Dreams. If
you don’t see anything you like, another store is only a
5 minute walk away, CoCo Fresh in Linden Square.
These stores are strategically spread across the campus

as it is well known that Waterloo has a large Asian
student population. Considering that Asian/South-
Asian groups make up the majority of of Waterloo’s
foreign region population (around 25 percent), it is
logical for these shops to advertise bubble tea, a drink
originating from East Asia, to the large Asian
population in Waterloo.

There are many bubble tea shops placed around
Waterloo, but this article will highlight three of the best
shops in the area: The Alley, CoCo Fresh, and Sweet
Dreams.
