Rotaract’s elevated status within Rotary International was approved by Rotary’s Council on Legislation in 2019 as a result
of the work of 2018-19 RI President Barry Rassin to include Rotaract as a membership type in Rotary. The most notable
change was the removal of Rotaract’s upper-age limit. For the first time, RI began counting Rotaract Clubs in the “Clubs
in a District” report with 10 Rotaract clubs and 124 Rotaract members reported in My Rotary for District 5420.
THE ROTARACT COMMUNITY CLUB OF OGDEN was recognized during the “Evening of Opportunity:
District Governor Linda Sappington Induction” as the 2019-2020 Rotaract Club of The Year. They held a first aid
meeting; invited a local judge to speak about his profession; have had several getting-to-know-you activities; organized
several service projects which included a river walk clean-up evening; volunteered with the Christmas Box House and
collaborated in a bingo fundraiser with their sponsor Rotary club.
SALT LAKE ROTARACT reported they have been outdoors cleaning up at the University of Utah and Jordan River
park; planting trees at Wheeler Historic Park with Tree Utah and clearing debris from the greater Salt Lake City area

windstorm. They’ve enjoyed increased socials like hiking, making masks, and icebreakers. When they were not meeting
outside, they were meeting online.
MIDVALLEY ROTARACT participated in efforts to gather items for the native American community; held a
holiday diaper drive for new items to donate to the U of U Hospital and high risk mothers; prepared meals at the Good
Samaritan House; collected socks for Catholic Community Services of Utah; prepared 100 puzzles for seniors and
included chocolate and uplifting notes; picked pears and apples and delivered these to families with food needs; did an
area cleanup of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church; helped out Charity Anywhere warehouse for shipping and receiving
donations; held a food drive for the Granite Education Foundation and created 200 meal packs and partnered with the
Murray Rotary Club for their Freeway Interchange Clean-up project.
