        In conjunction with the UVU Office of Global Engagement, UVU Rotaract’s first event of the 2020-21school year, was
        a virtual commemoration of Rotary International’s World Polio Day, dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of the United
        Nations. Together with Orem Rotary, they also co-hosted Congressman John Curtis for a panel regarding conservation
        efforts, economic development, and climate change in the House of Representatives. They hosted the eleventh United
        Nations International Mountain Day (IMD) at Utah Valley University (UVU) and contributed to Orem Rotary’s Coats
        for Kids in December 2020 with Orem Rotary member Cholpon Akmatalieva and UVU Rotaract advisor Baktybek
        Abdrisaev delivering coats to students-in-need at Westmore Elementary School and Windsor Elementary School. UVU
        Rotaract raised funds in support of Orem Rotary’s oranges fundraiser in February 2020.

        UVU Rotaractors gained professional skills in preparation for the Commission on the Status of Women Conference
   Rotaract Club of the Year
        and as a member of the Utah International Mountain Forum (UIMF) was highlighted in the written statement of the
        Russian Academy of Natural Sciences - an official UN document. UVU Rotaract helped present a parallel event at the
        United Nations’ Commission on the Status of Women and was highlighted by the Mountain Partnership Secretariat
        under the UN. UVU Rotaractors participated in an Earth Day Park Beautification Project with Orem Rotary. In
        addition, they gained 8 members in the past year while focusing on growing their relationship with Orem Rotary, as well
        as ongoing advocacy work for mountain women, as it supports RI goals.
