ANGELS IN THE COMMUNITY
HONORING OUR COMMUNITY AT THE BALLPARK:
             Angels Wives
The Angels Wives take an active role in the community
throughout the season by contributing their time and
efforts toward numerous charitable organizations. Many
wives organize their own events to benefit both the
Angels Baseball Foundation and causes personal to them
             and their husbands.
The 2018 season was the eighth year for the “Gold Ball
Mystery Grab Bag” event, benefiting Angels Baseball
Foundation. The Angels Wives also teamed up with the
Anaheim Firefighters Association in July to host the
eighth “Fill the Boot” fundraiser to benefit the Muscular
Dystrophy Association (MDA) of Orange County and
             Riverside County.
             Making Wishes Come True
The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Angels have joined forces to help grant the wishes of under the halo
children with life-threatening medical conditions. Throughout the season, the Angels are pleased to
have Wish Kids and their families as their guests to enjoy an experience like no other, one that uses
baseball to provide an opportunity for these children and their families to remove themselves from
the difficult journey they are facing.
Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer
The Angels annually join Major League Baseball and
Susan G. Komen for the Cure on Mother’s Day to raise
awareness and funding for the fight against breast
cancer. Players, coaches and umpires throughout the
league support the cause by wearing pink wristbands
and pink ribbons on their uniforms. Many players also
choose to play with special pink bats on Mother’s Day.
MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition
The Angels are pleased to host the MLB Pitch, Hit
& Run local final competition at Angel Stadium. The local competitions provide youth across North
America with an integrated competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.
The program reaches more than 600,000 participants between the ages of seven and 14, through
             more than 3,900 local competitions.
             Father’s Day Home Run Challenge
The Angels and Major League Baseball are committed to the
fight against prostate cancer. In 2018, the Angels continued their
partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation for the Home
Run Challenge. In its 21st year of raising money for the cure of
prostate cancer, the Home Run Challenge takes place the week
prior to Father’s Day with events scheduled at stadiums across
             the nation.
             Light the Night®
The Angels partner with The Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society each year to host the
Light the Night Walk at Angel Stadium. This
special fundraising walk is a celebration and
commemoration of lives touched by cancer.
All walkers carry balloons: cancer patients and
survivors carry white illuminated balloons, while
             supporters carry red illuminated balloons.
