“Go Kits”
A Go Kit is a readily available container that is sturdy and easy to
carry such as a backpack or suitcase on wheels. It is prepared with
various items to be used in the event of an emergency. The following
are supplies that should be incorporated in each individual’s Go Kit:
Water—1.5 gallons per person First Aid Kit
Food—Examples include, but Vinyl and/or latex
not limited to: gloves
Emergency “Go Kit” Supply List
Ready-to-eat canned meats, Medications & MARs
fruits, and vegetables
Canned/bottled juices, milk, Current Facesheets,
and soups Insurance Cards, etc.
Sugar, salt, pepper Clothing
High energy foods – jelly, Tooth brush and tooth
crackers, granola bars, trail paste
mix
Foods for persons on special Bedding—blanket or sleep-
diets, diabetic needs, etc. ing bag
Comfort/stress foods – Sanitation Items—tissue
cookies, unsweetened cere- paper, towelettes, liquid soap/
als, lollipops, instant coffee, hand sanitizer, feminine sup-
tea bags plies (if required)
Non-electric can opener Crank flashlights
Paper cups, plates, and Disaster/ Emergency/
plastic utensils Evacuation Plan
Cell phone & portable Map of the area (for
charger locating shelters)
Whistle Crank radio and watch
