• Drinking at least 64 ounces of water, or other non-caloric beverages, per day
• Performing deep breathing exercises to reduce anxiety and stress
• Walking outside if the weather permits or standing outside for a few minutes daily to breathe in fresh
air
• Staying connected to friends and family
• Talking about your feelings with trusted friends, family, or even a therapist
Be extra vigilant and seek immediate medical attention for:
• Chest pain or discomfort (even if it comes and goes)
• Heartburn, indigestion and/or nausea
• Feeling weak, light-headed, tired and/or faint
• Pain or discomfort in the jaw, neck, or back
• Pain or discomfort in one or both arms or shoulders
• Intermittent shortness of breath
In an abundance of caution, remember to call 911/EMS if you, or a person in your care, experience severe
chest pain, palpitations, excessive sweating, fainting, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and shortness of breath.
As EPIC’s Director of Nursing, I often encourage our staff to stay positive, to be kind to people around you,
to find a fun activity to do every day, and to laugh often. I offer you the same advice and wish you good

Marcia Burrell-Odeyemi, RN, PMHNP, has been the Director of Nursing Services at EPIC for over 21 years. Prior to
becoming the D.O.N., Marcia proudly served as a Direct Support Professional in EPIC’s residential homes for 5
years. Marcia, in collaboration with her team of registered nurses, provides premier health management and sup-
portive healthcare services to promote, protect, and preserve the health and safety of EPIC’s people supported.
