Assalamualaikum wbt. and greetings,
On behalf of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), I
am delighted to extend my warmest welcome to all
distinguished speakers, researchers, clinicians,
industry partners and participants to the 1st Regional Professor Dato’ Dr. Sufian Jusoh
Conference on Precision Health (RCPH 2026). Vice-Chancellor, UKM
This conference marks an important milestone in advancing the regional precision health agenda.
By bringing together experts from across Asia and beyond, RCPH 2026 provides an important
platform for the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and innovation in genomics, multi-omics
technologies, artificial intelligence, and population-based health strategies. Such interdisciplinary
engagement is essential to translating scientific advances into meaningful and lasting improvements
in health outcomes.
Among the key highlights of this conference is the launch of the Malaysian Pangenome, a landmark
undertaking that strengthens Malaysia’s genomic research ecosystem and reflects our shared
commitment in harnessing genomic science and data-driven innovation for the benefit of society.
This important milestone and reference genomic database, will support efforts in disease
prevention, early detection, and the advancement of more precise and personalised healthcare for
our diverse populations.
The breadth of the conference programme reflects the rapid and exciting evolution of this field,
encompassing precision medicine, clinical genomics, precision public health, population screening,
biobanking, and digital health technologies. These conversations are timely and important in
working towards a predictive, preventive, personalised, and participatory healthcare.
UKM remains steadfast in its commitment advancing impactful research, strengthening regional
collaboration, and contributing to progress in biomedical science and population health. It is my
sincere hope that this conference will spark new partnerships, inspire fresh thinking, and generate
innovative solutions that will enhance health and well-being across our communities and beyond.
