On the Backstretch at Woodbine Racetrack

The now six year-old gelding Spanish River curiously kept an eye on me as I pulled up to the barn at Woodbine.
Owned by Ruvee Stables, bred and trained by Frank Huarte, the Giant Gizmo grey/roan gelding is the son of War River out of the Huarte’s 1986 mare Spanish Play (Great Gladiator), a multiple stakes
winner of more than $360,000 and is the daughter of Huarte’s 1976 stakes winning mare Good Decree.
With three wins lifetime, Spanish River’s best result last season was in a $58,600 Allowance sprint on the Tapeta at Woodbine on October 16 he  nished a solid second after a bad start. Watch the Race here

Unraced Silent Empire is an Ohio bred 3-year old by Silent Name (JPN) - Lovely Bull (Holy Bull) bred by Andy Stronach, Owned & Trained by Peter Berringer at Woodbine.
