On the Backstretch at Woodbine Racetrack
PHOTO LEFT: Jockey Sheena Ryan is aboard Yallhaveaniceday for owner/trainer John Ross who purchased the son of Kentucky Bear - Bears Princess (Olmodavor) as a weanling out of the CTHS of Ontario 2015 Winter Mixed Sale for $5,500 during
the complete dispersal of Bear Stables Ltd. breeding stock . The 2 year-old colt is a full brother to the talented John Ross trained mare Classyshadesofgrey who he owned in partnership with James Passero.
A winner of 5 career races, Classyshadesofgrey won her  rst three races of 2016, before stepping up to stakes company and then was claimed by Trainer Greg Tracy for C and H Duggan Farms Ltd. and Shot In The Dark Racing Corp. in her last start of the year.
Proven to have a good eye when picking horses
out of a sale, John purchased Champion Millionaire, Lexie Lou, as a yearling and raced her during her two- year-old campaign in 2013 when she recorded 3 wins (including the Muskoka and South Ocean Stakes),
2 seconds and third in 8 starts earning more than
$310,000. The  rst race of her three year old year, she  nished fourth in the Star Shoot Stakes in April and was then sold privately to Gary Barber.
After spending this winter with 18 horses (Ontario sired/bred and Canadian bred babies and older horses) at Classic Mile in Ocala Florida, John Ross returned to Woodbine at the end of March and will have 20 in at the track this year.
Training at Woodbine since 1989 some of John’s top trainees include: Shaw’s Creek, Brooklynsway, Marco Be Good, Catahoula Parish, Go Greeley and many more.

David a.k.a. Shortman aboard the distinguishable Forest Brother, an Ontario bred gelding by Old Forester - Miss Impertinence (Van Nistelrooy) bred and owned by Marc Berzins and trained by Timothy Regan.
A winner of three races lifetime, the now 5 year old gelding won two of those races last season including an impressive win on the turf in a $47,500 Allowance race on September 3 with Tommy Wong in the irons.
