Michael Shipp Jr.

While in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, Michael is finding what it means to
be a leader. He describes leadership as “setting an example for others to
see and strive to be like.” For Michael, this means that he always has to be
at his best, whether it is in school, volunteering with Montford Point
Marine Organization or displaying excellent customer service techniques
every day with Jewel-Osco. His Store Director says that he always “takes
time to make sure the customers leave highly satisfied.” Michael plans to
pursue a store management career with aspirations to join the Marketing
Department where he can apply the knowledge gained to continue to
make Jewel-Osco a successful company.
Amanda Stauffer
Store #3096 – Munster, Cashier
Purdue University Northwest
Amanda plans on utilizing her education to advance her career with
Jewel-Osco. She is committed to her work and has recently taken on more
responsibility as a service desk clerk as well as accepting the role of a
Backup Personnel Coordinator all while pursuing her degree. Her
commitment is not only evident in her work at Jewel-Osco, but also in her
after school activities where she has taken on leadership positions in
Society for Human Resource Management as well as Women in Business.
Upon graduation, Amanda plans on continuing her career with Jewel-
Osco to potentially lead her into the Human Resource Department.
