Hi Doug:
Last week #3475 Deerfield Pharmacy Manager Nga saved the life of a patient who had an
adverse affect from the pneumonia vaccine. The patient initially seemed to be fine as Nga
observed her and spoke with her. After a minute or two, the patient became unresponsive,
no pulse and no breathing.
Nga's training kicked in and she instructed her tech to call 911 while she administered an
EPI pen and started CPR. By the time the paramedics arrived (who were thankfully
shopping in the store), the patient was coming around.
Our Osco ASD, Michele W. was on site immediately and assisted and supported NGA.
We think we need a great big shout out to Nga!!! A life saved!
