Gender Equality

"Are men and women equal?" It is one of, if not the most controversial question ever asked. Quite frankly it
boils down to whether or not the genders should have equal rights, privileges and opportunities as the other. As

for the original question of men and women being equal, I say no, we are not equal, in the slightest as there are
many differences in the body and minds of men and women, but as to if men and women should be allowed the

same opportunities, most importantly in career, that is a definite yes.

If one is able to outperform their peers it should be only logical for them to ascend to higher ranks and

more powerful positions, and here comes some natural segregation. There are many professions in which men

perform better than women and vice versa. If you are to look at a typical army, most of it is composed of men,
but if you look at teaching and managing jobs, you'll most likely see that it is a female dominated field. Some

might say those are already female jobs and that women should be able to apply for male jobs. Well, they can,

it's just really hard for women to do certain jobs and simply put it's harder for a woman to be a stonemason,
as it simply does not appeal to most women.

Though with all that being said, I believe gender shouldn't be a job requirement. It all seems ridiculous that

gender equality is still a topic that needs to be discussed in this day and age. We have tens of thousands of

giant metal birds that fly above the clouds carrying hundreds of thousands of people every day, billions of
dollars of transactions, trades and services being provided to anyone with just the click of a button and even

tragedies such as the civil war in Yemen, the conflict in Afghanistan, Mexican drug war and the war in Ukraine,
all claiming up to 3.3 million lives. In all those places, the men stay and fight whilst the women and children flee,

so they may continue on with the struggle in the future. Those men show valor, courage and immense love for

the ones they leave behind, and for the mothers, the daughters, the sisters, the wives that do leave them, they
leave them because they were told so, they know how much their sons, fathers, brothers and husbands love

them, so they leave them in order to keep them calm. It is never an easy choice to leave someone, nor is it to

stay behind and fight. Choosing which one is the harder choice is plain insane because it hurts differently.

Men and women are always different, but it shouldn’t define who any one of us becomes since it is too big of

a generalization to just talk about men or women as every individual life is even too big to talk about.
