It has been an action packed week at VISS with our annual Athletics carnivals taking place. All VISS students,
from our very youngest to our eldest have been involved in their respective carnivals. The weather this year has
certainly been on our side with each of the four days held in beautiful, moderate sunshine. Overwhelmingly the
contribution and passion from our students has been excellent. Although there is certainly spirited competition,
there is also a clear focus on participation and most importantly fun. Of particular note has been the passionate
rivalry of our house competition, evidence of the strength of community and indeed the sense of belonging our
students feel for their school. It was also very pleasing to see our Secondary School student leaders assist in the
running of our Primary School carnivals. It is very positive to see our older students actively being role models
for our younger students. Ultimately, this helps embed a culture of one united school, sharing common purpose
            and values.

In the coming weeks, we are looking forward to our Primary School Production and we hope to see as many of
our community come and join us to celebrate the creative work from our talented students.

            Coronavirus
As mentioned last week through our social media channels, we continue to monitor the situation with the
Coronavirus very closely and continue to make sure we are taking every precaution we can to protect our
community. We have been in contact with the relevant authorities and we are monitoring the advice coming
from the UAE Ministry of Health daily. As an added precaution, and to ensure improved hygiene, we have added
a further 30 hand Sanitizing units in strategic locations across the school. We encourage you to talk with your
child about the need to be regularly washing and sanitizing their hands. Below are some general guidelines from
the WHO that you can use to help guide your children in these matters.
