The spiritual connection—Take time during this challenging
period to read these devotions and to understand what God may
be saying to you about your spirit. Be intentional in exchang-
ing those thoughts with your spouse, if possible. Pray for each
other—relentlessly. Pray for deployment challenges like safety,
protection, wisdom in making decisions, future assignments, fi-
nances, and continue to pray for the grace to love each other “for
better or for worse.” Whenever possible, pray together. These
devotions are written to help you discuss ways in which God has
worked in others’ lives and is now working in yours.

It is our desire that these devotions will be a blessing to you
during your deployment and during reintegration. Our nation is
so very grateful for your faithful service. You are giving us the
gift of security and freedom. Our prayer is that you will find in
these pages a way to make “the connection” with your spouse
and with God!
