Kidpreneur
In partnership with the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend (ELC), the Capital City
Chamber of Commerce was pleased to assist in the facilitation of the Kidpreneur
Program throughout July and August. Children across all seven counties of the Big Bend
region were invited to choose from one of four business models to build and design
their products and enterprises. The CCC provided input, supplies, and support for the
Kidpreneur Program. After the Kidpreneur Program, all Kidpreneur enterprises were
awarded a one-year membership to the Capitol City Chamber of Commerce.
Cities for Financial Empowerment-CityStart Community Stakeholders Roundtable Meetings
In conjunction with Leon County Government and the City of Tallahassee, the Capital City
Chamber of Commerce organized a series of roundtable discussions for small businesses,
nonprofits, and members of the juvenile and adult workforce to identify key contributors
to the racial wealth equity gap in the Tallahassee community. They addressed existing
strategies to combat these systemic barriers and synthesize new actionable strategies.
The Leon County Government was awarded a Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund
(CFE Fund) grant of $75,000 to develop and implement actionable strategies to help
residents overcome barriers to racial wealth equity and financial stability.
What Women Want
In collaboration with Cumulus Media, the Capital City Chamber of Commerce
participated in What Women Want, a community-wide women’s expo that featured
vendors and small businesses, along with personality experts in a variety of topics,
from finance and careers to home décor and fashion.
