STUDENTS ENROLLING ON OR AFTER AUGUST 1, 2016
The initial-eligibility standards for NCAA Division I college-bound student-athletes are
changing. Note: College-bound student- athletes first entering a Division I college or university on
or after August 1, 2016, will need to meet new academic rules in order to receive athletics aid
(scholarship), practice or compete during their first year.!
Freshman Timeline
MAY - 9th Grade Orientation/Transitional Meeting - Physicals, Parent Consent Forms, Summer Academic
Camp registration.
JUNE - Summer Conditioning/Player Development, Academic Day Camp.
JULY - Summer Conditioning/Player Development, Situational Awareness Course, STAR Sportsmanship
AUGUST - Complete course entry on Freshman Year Division 1 Worksheet.
SEPTEMBER - Pre-Season Training & Fall League Competition, After-School Tutorials/Study Hall,
Grade Checks & Evaluations, SWAG Dues deadline.
OCTOBER - Pre-Season Training & Fall League Competition, 9th Grade OFFICIAL PRACTICE starts,
Academic Progress check and improvement plan.
NOVEMBER - MARCH – In-Season Training & Competition, After-School Tutorials/Study Hall,
Academic Progress check and improvement plan.
APRIL - MAY - Off-Season (Spring) Strength & Conditioning, Academic Progress Watch, Team Community
Service Project, Spring Practice Begins, Annual Fund Raiser, Senior Team Banquet
