Commissioned by SHV Holdings in Utrecht, Boom worked for five years on the concept, design and editing of 2,136-page
SHV Think Book 1996–1896, it was published in Chinese and English. When finished, the book ended up weighing 3.5 kilos, and it shot Bloom into international stardom. While she was working on SHV’s Shareholding book with Yohon the art historian. They were asked to make a jubilee book for a trade company to give to their future shareholders. Though they made enough copies for the next 500 years, these books are not for sale. All of the text for this book came from the archives except for one page of important words that her and Yohon came up with.
Boom and Yohon were given complete control over how the book was designed so they really got creative. The book is in reverse chronological order beginning 2096 ending in 1799. Because the future was unknown, they put holes in the paper and printed the financial statements and other records very light as if it were in air.
