for you to excel in it, you’ll be taking part in a recipe
for disaster; passion and career are two different
things. To elaborate, what I’m doing right now are
steps that will lead me to my passion, which is
owning a VC: venture capital; a company that invests
in certain start-ups based on loads of research they
mainly work with finance strategy and planning and
data analysis experts. My career, however, at this
point in time is owning a coworking space.

When I decide to delve into an idea, I like to
research it before taking any steps or even meeting
up with people. The data gathering process is crucial
in helping me reach what I perceive as the right
decision. Anything in the world has a level of risk and
that risk can always be calculated. Once you have
your numbers intact, and you know everything about
the business you’re getting into, you can compare
the numbers and decide whether you can endure
taking on the risk or not; without the risk there’s no
        success.

If you lock yourself up and shackle yourself
with your fears, you will never achieve what you
want; furthermore, you can’t deny the joy some risks
        tend to bring.

        Reactions

I was a lucky man, everyone around me was
always supportive. “you are unique,” “you have a
distinct mindset,” “you will succeed.” Those are all
sentences I have numerously heard from the people
surrounding me. They were always there for me.
Whenever I fall, I find them pulling me back up; they
have always highlighted the fact that falling is learning
rather than failing. Imagine how inspiring that is at a
        point of such vulnerability.

“All roads lead to Rome,” this is one of the most
important things that the contrast between Asran’s
and Maghrabi’s stories shows. Asran liked having an
overview about what he wants to do, while Maghrabi
prefers in-depth analysis. Asran was discouraged
by most of the people around him; despite that he
continued with the shift anyway; on the other hand,
Maghrabi was encouraged and continued as well.
        Asran is more of a lone-wolf when it comes to work;
on the other side of the spectrum, Maghrabi used
the six degrees’ separation theory when he wanted
to establish his career at firs; which briefly states
that someone you know knows someone who can
actually be of help to you. No matter what you want
to achieve; in spite of what the people around you
        would say, when there’s a will, there’s a way.

                                                                                                                  39
