pensions are important, do all of them have to call in sick? Cause the entire school to shut down? I mean
really, why should the parents care to be involved, when they see the teachers not caring either?
Don’t get me wrong, all parents should be involved, but I don’t believe this is ever going to
happen. We shouldn’t stop trying, but the focus should be on the child and the child only. The parent, I
am sad to say, is mostly absent.
Abigail Vogt: Technology in the Schools Case Study
Not to throw gas on a fire, but it did take a while to get a hold of Abigail’s case study. If you look
in the file exchange area of our group, you will only see files that I have uploaded. It is difficult to review
fellow students work if I cannot locate it or have access to it, such as a Google shared file with no access,
even after requesting access.
It is not my intention to be mean or disheartening, but the author of this case study needs to do
more research on the actual field on technology and the English language. There were so many errors in
this case study that I read, both grammatical, as well as IT related. For starters, I do not believe that
middle age persons actually attend middle school. Very little thought went into writing this case study.
Using front hand instead of first hand, is just a sample of the wrong terminology. If the high school is
donating damaged computers, why isn’t this an issue? And if the computers are damaged, why are they
being used? Why is there a contradiction in the second paragraph? In one sentence rural areas have little
to know internet, yet a few sentences later, over 80% have WIFI or cellular internet. It can’t be both ways.
However, I do agree that getting internet access in rural areas is very expensive and the data speeds are
slow, in the best of scenarios. Yes, the schools do provide computers to the students, but as I stated in my
own case study, why? In my opinion, this is a wasted expense. As these students do not have the proper
training is maintaining computers and many of the computers are returned damaged and beyond repair.
These students should be giving an incentive to purchase their own computers as this provides them an
incentive to care for them properly. It is easier for them to damage something that they did not purchase.
Providing computers, free of charge I might add, without repercussions for damaging them, is just asking
