At the Dharma assembly.

YBAM Puzhao Buddhist Vihara ‘Disaster Elimination and Transcendence Recitation Dharma Assembly’ was held
from 9th January 2021 (Saturday) to 10th January 2021 (Sunday), from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The organising committee invited Venerable Ru Ding to be the host of this Dharma Assembly, and Venerable Zi
Zhong, Venerable Jing Xuan,and Venerable Ji Shu were the Karmadāna to lead the public in the offering to ‘the
Precious Repentance of Diamond’ and ‘Sutra of the Terra Treasure’.

There were disaster elimination memorial tablets and transcendence tablets in ‘Disaster Elimination and
Transcendence Recitation Dharma Assembly’. This Dharma assembly invited the spirits of the dead and
orphaned souls to come to the vihara to listen to the Dharma teachings, recitation of sutras, recitation of the
Buddha’s name, confession, making vows, granting three refuges, and making offerings with Dharma in order
for them to be enlightened and reborn in a good life. In the same way, the Dharma assembly also guided
the religious adherents to practise altruism, transcending own self and others. Through the solemn Buddhist
chants and compassionate atmosphere of the viihara, the sincere repentance and wishes were gathered, and
the merits were shared with all sentient beings.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the organising committee of the Dharma assembly conducted the
assembly in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the government, limiting the
number of participants to 40. The participants were required to measure their temperature before entering
the main shrine, and those who were within the normal temperature range were allowed to enter the main
shrine and were required to wear a mask throughout the Dharma assembly.
While conducting the Dharma assembly, the organising committee also broadcasted the Dharma assembly
liveon the Facebook page of Puzhao Buddhist Vihara to allow those who could not attend the Dharma assembly
in person to participate in it through the live broadcast.
