this education grant as compared to others? Can we
help the university students with RM 1,000?
For more than two decades, the government has
been assisting university students through the
National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN). The student
loans are also classified as full or partial loans based
on family income. After deducting tuition fees, a
university student basically has RM 300 to RM 700 a
month left for living expenses during a semester.
The ‘Tertiary Education Grant’ is a grant for students
in addition to the existing scholarship or loan. Besides
providing financial support to poor Buddhist youth,
we hope to ‘reward’ students who are actively
involved in Buddhist activities or university Buddhist
societies.
