5.3.2 New members are joining activities
Leaders of the TCR organizations, particularly from Buddhist organizations, were optimistic.
Their optimism was based on their observation on the number of new participants in activities
organized by them. Madam RS said, “Many younger believers, especially the newlyweds,
are very active, and they participate in activities and courses conducted by my organization.”
Mr TA agreed, saying, “Many Chinese youth are actively volunteering, and many joined
charity services organized by us.”
5.4 Reasons For Converting Out

centuries. Feedback from the TCR organizations’ leaders shows their awareness of the
methods used by the Christians to proselytize Christianity. One of the methods observed is
aggressive recruitment. This phenomenon was observed by Mr. JW from Temple B. He said,

I really admire their spirit.”
They will also try to convert the family members of their recruits. In some cases,
forceful methods are used. Mr LE said, “Some of my monastery members are converted by
their children. When the parents refused… the refusal will cause disharmony in the family.”
Meanwhile, RS said,” I had handled some cases when parents were forced to convert to
Christianity. They treat it as a condition. If the parents refused, they would stop looking after
them…” A similar forceful method was also observed by Mr LI. He said,” There are many
